Christian Chau

Assistant Swim Coach

Christian has spent many years working with young athletes through competitive swimming, water polo, and education. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from California State University, Bakersfield and is currently completing his teaching credential while preparing for a career in education.

Christian brings extensive coaching experience to the pool deck. He has coached competitive swimmers with Roadrunner Aquatics and Bakersfield Aquatics Club, working with athletes across multiple age groups while developing practices focused on skill development, discipline, goal-setting, and individual growth.

In addition to club swimming, Christian has coached high school swim programs at Highland, East Bakersfield, and Mira Monte and currently coaches water polo at Ridgeview High School. He is also a USA Swimming official, giving him a strong understanding of competitive swimming, athlete safety, teamwork, and sportsmanship.



As a coach, Christian is passionate about helping swimmers grow both in and out of the pool. His background in coaching and education allows him to bring patience, structure, and encouragement to his athletes while helping them build confidence, improve their skills, and develop a lasting appreciation for the sport.
